Directions

The Library of Virginia, 800 East Broad Street, Richmond. 804-692-3500

From Interstate 95 (from the North or from the South): Take Exit 74C. A highway sign will say Library of Virginia. Proceed west on Broad Street. The Library of Virginia will be on your right.  It stretches from 9th to 8th streets along Broad Street.

Traveling west on Interstate 64 (coming from the Williamsburg area): Take the exit for Fifth Street and the Coliseum. You will go past the Coliseum on your left. Turn left on Marshall Street. Proceed to 8th Street and turn right. The Library of Virginia is on your left at that corner, and stretches from Marshall to Broad Street.

Traveling east on Interstate 64 (coming from the Charlottesville area): Take I-95 South to Exit 74C. See instructions above for I-95.

Parking

We have been asked not to park in the Library of Virginia parking deck on Friday, as space is limited and reserved for patrons. However, we may park in the deck on Saturday. Entrances to the deck are on 8th and 9th streets toward the back of the Library, near Marshall Street. For Friday's parking, there are several public parking lots nearby:

• St. Paul's Episcopal Church Deck, 111 North 8th St. Cars in before 9 A.M. pay $7 a day.Others pay $3/hr. with a maximum of $12 a day.From the front of the library on Broad Street, go left (south) on 8th Street for 1.5 blocks. Turn left into the parking deck, just past the intersection of 8th and East Grace Streets. Not open on Saturday.
• The 700 Center Deck, 112 North 8th St.  Cars in before 10 A.M. pay $7 a day.  Others pay $4/hr with a maximum of $12 a day. From the front of the library on Broad Street, go left south on 8th street for 1.5 blocks. Turn right into parking deck, just past the intersection of 8th and East Grace Sts. Not open on Saturday.
• Standard Parking (behind The Marriott Hotel).  5th and Marshall Streets.  Cars in before 9 A.M. and out between 4 and 6 P.M. pay $7. Others pay $4/hour with a maximum of $13 per day. From the front of the library on Broad Street, go west to 3rd Street and turn right. Go one block north to E. Marshall St. and turn right. Go three blocks on E. Marshall St. and turn left into the deck, just past the intersection of 5th and E. Marshall Streets. Saturday parking is $8/day.
• 8th & Marshall St. Lot.  $12/day maximum charge. From the front of the library on Broad Street, go west one block and turn right onto 7th Street. Go one block and turn right onto Marshall, and go one block. The lot is on the right at the corner of 8th and Marshall.  Saturday parking is $7/day.
