Writing Groups

Writers Workshop99
A counter-culture forum for young (twenty-something) writers. All forms and genres welcome. Will meet monthly in establishments of local color. Submissions for review will be e-mailed to me, reformated to maintain anonymity, and redistributed for review. We meet. We critique. We have a good time. Contact Ian Holland, workshop99@hotmail.com

Virginia Screenwriters' Forum
Now in its seventeenth year, the Virginia Screenwriters' Forum meets once a month from  7:00 pm. to 9:00 p.m. in downtown Richmond. The objective of the VSF is to bring writers together to share their love and knowledge of screenwriting by offering support and constructive feedback to member's scripts in progress. Throughout the years, member scripts have been made into movies,  a PBS documentary and optioned by major production companies. Aspiring screenwriters are welcome and are encouraged to attend monthly meetings. For upcoming meeting dates, see JRW's Literary Events Calendar or the Forum's Web site at www.virginiascreenwritersforum.com. To attend a meeting of the Virginia Screenwriters' Form, email  vsf@comcast.net or  call 744-1718.

The Chesapeake Bay Writers, a chapter of the Virginia Writers Club, issues an invitation for "aspiring and inspired writers" from the Northern Neck to Williamsburg to join the group. Enjoy member benefits that include five dinner or luncheon meetings a year with programs by notable Virginia writers, regular critique group meetings, contests, workshops, and opportunities to promote your publications and/or services.
